Favour means friendly regard shown towards another, especially by a superior; a special privilege or right granted you. It means a special advantage bestowed on you to your benefit.
It also means gracious kindness, a deep expression of love.
God loves you so much.
Faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God; it’s not something you push from the mind;
it’s from your spirit. It’s the reason you must keep inundating your spirit with the Word of God.
Faith is not a leap in the dark- it’s a leap on the word! And if he truly believes that he has what he’s asked for, then he should not put himself under duress to say that it must come today, or, it must be tomorrow. He knows inside him that he has it, and he stays with it, and he is going to get the result.
Faith remains unshakeable irrespective of circumstances. As long as you are thinking: ‘I’ve been declaring that I have this thing. It hasn’t come, oh lord! I’ve been declaring!’ and then you get under pressure, you’re not in faith! You are thinking that the constant repetition of your confession is what faith is, but that’s not faith. Faith is not that you’re confessing it. We make the confession because we have faith- our confession is an offspring of faith.
‘… as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak…’ 2nd Corinthians 1:13.
It doesn’t say we speak and therefore believe. ‘I believed, therefore, have I spoken’- that’s what the Word says. So, the faith takes a hold of it first and if your faith has taken a hold of it, it is impossible to deny you, because you already have it. How can you come back and say, ‘oh I thought I had it and I found I didn’t have it’?
Faith is knowledge. It is a spiritual knowledge that you have it. You’re not trying to get it, you have it! The scripture says: ‘Now faith is the ‘substance’ of things not seen’ Hebrews 11:1. It is the ‘substance of things hoped for’. If you were hoping for it, if you were wanting to get it and praying about it, when you take a hold of it with your faith because you’ve been hoping for it, your faith has it! It is substance, not an assumption. It didn’t say ‘faith is an assumption of things hoped for’, it says ‘faith is the substance of things hoped for’, which means it has become tangible to you.
So, the real question is not going to be ‘what do I do after declaring that I have something and then it doesn’t come when I want it’, your real question should be wanting to learn more about faith. You’d want to know more about faith- How do I use my faith? because you have faith! If you didn’t have faith, you wouldn’t be a Christian because when you hear the gospel, the gospel comes with faith- the seed of faith. Once you receive the gospel of Jesus Christ, it imparts faith in your heart to receive eternal life- you become a Christian. So, faith is already resident in your spirit.
The question is, How can I use my faith? That’s what you would want to learn and our book ‘HOW TO MAKE YOUR FAITH WORK‘ would help you tremendously, It would help you.
A prophet of God draws people to God and not to other gods but to the father of our Lord Jesus Christ and draws people to the Word, not to himself or to some other god. And then, the things that he says come to pass. Now, that’s a little tricky because sometimes, you have a true prophet who makes mistakes (because there are some who have made mistakes). Don’t forget that you are not made a pastor, a prophet or an evangelist because you are perfect.
Does he walk in love? A key- walking in the love of Christ- is very important!
That is about marriage- what the role of parents is in the choice of a partner and it depends on who the parents are. All parents are not the same; not every parent is led by the Spirit. Some are not Christians and some are Christians, some have insight, some have no insight. The Bible didn’t say as many that are led by parents, it says as many as are led by the Spirit of God and so the Spirit of God leads us and ministers to us through those who He indwells, through those in whom He lives especially those that he has called into our lives to minister to us, to guide us through the Spirit and sometimes, that could be a parent and sometimes not. So, there are no hard and fast rules about parentage there, otherwise, what about others things in life?
It can’t just be about marriage, why don’t they decide about ministry for you or other things about your life and future? No! There has to be the ministry of the Spirit when it comes to anything that concerns your life.
For anything that’s important to you, you need the guidance of the Holy Spirit and that guidance could come through the different levels of leadership that the Lord has provided for you in the house of God and that can include your parents.
A history that you’ve got to know, Almost 2000 years ago, a man named Jesus was born of a virgin and he declared that he was sent from God as God’s son. His birth was a miracle birth because he was born of a virgin and then he also told us, by several miraculous signs that he came from God and he brought a message from God and the Bible tells us how that he died for us as a sacrifice.
He was buried. The third day God proved that he was truly from him by raising him from death. Jesus was raised from the dead as proof that he was from God. After his resurrection, he ascended in the presence of 120 people who saw him. The Bible tells us more than 500 people saw him after his resurrection.
Now, this Jesus ascended physically through the clouds to heaven- one more proof that he was the son of God- this Jesus being proved by God Almighty.
When you say you don’t believe there is a God, you have to understand everything in nature could not have come accidentally there is too much order in nature to have come as an accident.
It’s impossible! You’d have to deceive yourself.
“Giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”. Colossians 1:12
Now for every believer who is a Christian, the first thing is that the person is taken from the domain of darkness; so, we are delivered already! But I think that he is talking about oppression- whether a Christian oppressed or possessed. A Christian cannot be possessed by the devil but can be oppressed depending on what he knows. So, there are those who still talk about being delivered but you have already taught us that we are delivered already and we are in God’s kingdom.
You are in God’s kingdom! some Christians go for deliverance sessions and there are other Christians who are delivering them. It’s the same thing for when Christians get sick. A Christian should not be sick. But there are Christians that get sick and oftentimes it’s because of ignorance or misuse of the body.
So, when you misuse your body you’re going to get into trouble with your body but then you’ve got to do something about it if you know the truth:
“And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32.
The only way to handle your feeling as a Christian is to Subject Your Feelings to the Word
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved Romans 10:9
When you ask some Christians, “How do you know you’re saved?” they’d say, “I now feel close to God”; but that’s wrong.
Salvation or being born again has nothing to do with how you feel. That you “feel” close to God doesn’t make you any closer to Him than another Christian who may not “feel” that way. It’s got nothing to do with feelings; it’s a matter of faith.
The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith…” Ephesians 2:8
We’re not products of our feelings or what our minds tell us; we’re who and what God says we are.
Refuse to be ruled by your feelings and emotions.
Refuse to be dominated by your physical senses.
Part of Satan’s strategies is to make people slaves to their feelings. This is why you must “fight” your feelings. Subject your feelings to the dominion of God’s Word.
With respect to salvation, the Bible says if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord of your life, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, salvation is yours.
You’re catapulted from the kingdom of darkness into Light Romans 10:9
Straightaway, you’re born again with the life and nature of God in your spirit. The Word of God is the proof that you’re born again, not your feelings.
Romans 8:16 says, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”
Feelings are deceptive; they change with situations and circumstances, but God’s Word is immutable.
Believe, accept, and live by God’s Word only.
Dear Father, I thank you for ushering me into a life that’s beyond the ordinary plane of natural perception. I flourish in the blessings of salvation — deliverance, divine health, preservation, prosperity and wholeness—consummated for me by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
